"A Chorus Cloaked in Feathers" represents birds with wonderful songs that many birders would recognize: House Wren, Baltimore Oriole, Eastern Bluebird, Northern Cardinal and an Eastern Meadowlark.
The vividly colored feathers are bookended with feathers that are similar in their brown pattern.

This commissioned piece incorporates a poem written by Kay Sanders, the poet who commissioned the piece, a photograph of an Eastern Bluebird and a hand-carved wooden Bluebird tail feather. The poem, entitled "Happiness Still", won 3rd Place in a contest by Wisconsin People and Ideas magazine.

"Out of My Window" is a depiction of tail feathers of birds that are often in the one's backyard: Cardinal, Mourning Dove, Northern Flicker and an American Robin.
In Wisconsin, spring migration brings in Wood Warblers that we enjoy seeing when we get out to look for birds. "Springtime Visitors" is a collection of tail feathers of warblers that we hope to see when out birdings: Blackburian Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Indigo Bunting, American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, Wilson's Warbler, and Black and White Warbler. These little birds are fascinating to watch as they flit around eating insects after their long migration from the south.

As long as we have an images of the bird and feather you are interested in, we can customize a piece for you or as a gift for someone special in your life. We have customized pieces for Birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Retirement, and in memory of a loved one. Customers have also gifted people with a feather of their state bird. We will also do pieces with multiple feathers to create something very special for your wall.
Our artwork displays birds that are common in the Eastern United States. However, our library of bird photographs is large, so our range of possibilities is greater than what we are able to display.
In this Osprey piece, we used the customer's photograph (photo credit: Glenn Ocock) with a carved feather. It is uncommon that we will do this as our preference is to use our own photographs to ensure for a quality image in our artwork.
Have an Eagle Scout you would like to honor? We have done a number of Eagle Scout awards that have incorporated a carved eagle tail that is 1/2 size of a bald eagle's tail feather. We are able to customize a piece to suit your price range and needs for a special gift.
